Even before she qualified as a solicitor, Antonella Sanderson had decided the practice of family law would be her specialty. While still studying she worked as a paralegal in family law and this strengthened her ambition.
She was admitted to the practise in 1999 and in 2002 established her practice, Sanderson Partners Lawyers, in western Sydney where she had a strong connection with the Women’s Legal Resources Centre.
She moved to Cronulla in 2009 and changed the business name to Family Law Matters.
In 2013 Antonella went back to the books to qualify as an Accredited Specialist in Family Law. The specialist accreditation scheme offers Law Society members who have a minimum of five years working in a particular field the chance to strengthen their expertise.
The rigorous selection criteria included submitting a portfolio of documents, a written submission, an interview and a formal examination over several months.
In 2016 Antonella celebrates 14 years of operating her own Family Law practice. Having expanded both the size of the office and the team throughout 2015 the firm now consists of 4 solicitors, 3 administration staff, 4 students and 2 part time support staff.
Her dedication and experience to the field of family law has lead Antonella to be appointed to the Family Issues Committee of The Law Society of New South Wales in 2016. This prestigious position reflects the impeccable reputation Antonella has developed during her career.
On accepting the offer Antonella said, “I was delighted to accept the offer to sit on the Family Issues Committee in 2016. My passion for Family Law is as strong as ever and I am honoured to be working towards the growth of our industry.”
